Plein Air Painting Workshop

Plein Air Painting Workshop - Von Art Studio

Hi Everyone, here are the details on the Plein Air Workshop for next week. We will be painting Friday at Kaufman Gardens just down the street from the Nelson Art Gallery. I painted there yesterday all day and there are a hundred great scenes for paintings right in one easy area for us to work around (see link below for photos of the Gardens). We have several options for Saturday. I will see how you do on Friday and decide. We may either go to Loose Park for larger open scenery or go to one of the students homes for a smaller intimate venue.

Friday we will meet at Kaufman Gardens at 10am.

4800 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO (see link below for map).

There is plenty of easy access parking. We will unload supplies and setup for painting and I will do a short demonstration. Afterwards everyone will start their own painting and I will come around to help them individually. You will probably do 2-3 9x12 paintings. We will take several breaks in the shaded areas where there are chairs and tables to relax. Please bring a lunch so we can all take a break together under the shade of the Open Air Pavilion.

First Friday and Fashion Photos- Dance Class

Hi everyone, can't believe its First Friday again this Fri. We are having a great time in the new studio. I just posted the photos (links below) from last First Friday and the Annual Fashion Show. We had a excellent Life Drawing class this past month.

All dates for the new classes next week are posted on the website (below). Thurs night July 23 we are going to have a dance class! Singles and Couples both. Should be great fun, social dancing and great exercise. I have several people already signed up so if you're interested be sure and let me know. Come by Friday night!

No Paint in Aug but... Dance Class!

There will be no painting classes in August... but there will be Thursday Night Dance Class! Starting July 23 thru Aug 13. Singles and Couples in one Group Class. Great fun, Social Dancing, Exercise and Great Music. We will be using a variety of dances (Salsa, Swing, Foxtrot, Tango, Waltz, etc) to get your feet and body moving, all of which will apply to any kind of social dancing.

You must pre enroll with a deposit to reserve a spot in the class. Class limit 12.
